Metal braces are the most widely used type of braces. They are made of three parts: metal wire, brackets, and elastics to combine the two. The brackets are made from a special alloy of stainless steel and are attached to teeth with the help of special gum. Then the wire is attached to the brackets with the help of elastic. You can choose your own set of colors for the elastics. The wire applies pressure on the teeth to move them into their ideal position. Each tooth has its specific size and shape. To start with, the wire is thinner and as the treatment proceeds, the wire is tightened to encourage the movement of the teeth to their ideal position. Ceramic braces work in a similar way to metal braces, but they have a unique benefit. They are made from glass or ceramic-like material and are translucent.
